Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Bought at supermarket in Borgo San Lorenzo, Italy. Dark copper color with good head. Good aroma for this style. Good malty substance, but a bit short. Glad to find this on my honeymoon in Tuscany. I grew tired of wine...

pour is dark copper with tan head, nice aroma of molasses and caramel and slightly nutty. The flavor leans more toward molasses and chocolate this is a very malty brew and i wish i would have picked this up months ago after passing it up so many times at the store, if you are a fan of doppelbocks you will really enjoy this!

Poured a bright copper/bronze color with white head that stayed a while and left nice lacing on glass. Aroma is sweet roasted malt. Flavor is a combination of molasses, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor is balanced by hops which provide a bitter aftertaste. Alcohol is present in taste. Medium bodied and fairly easy drinking. Decent doppelbock for a country more known for wine.

Bottle. Has the color and appearance of maple syrup with with a creamy beige head. Aroma is grains, roasted chocolate and caramel. Light to medium body, light roasted chocolate flavor with a bitter finish reminiscent of many german lagers.

Pours a clear brown with a very small tanned head. Sweet and quite malty. Strong aromas of caramel. Has a low dryness. Aromas of almonds. Tiny touch of alcohol. Dry finish. Pretty good.

I had this out of a bottle poured into a Snifter. This beer has really nice character. What I really like about this beer was the smooth, rich palate - it is perhaps the best palate beer I have had this side of Guinness. The flavor is nice as well with the taste of Barley and the alcohol is well hidden. As the description says the aroma is light and delicate yet noticable and non-distracting. Highly recommended- make sure it is fresh.
