Taste is sweet molasses and minor bitter hops. Not my favorite style but a well brewed beer. AgentSteve (1376), SF Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2008 Looking for an Italian rating, I came across this and saw the score to be the highest by far of the most accessible brewer in Italy, so I picked one up. Pour is attractively clear deep amber with a thin off white head. Nose is sweet from malt and a bit toasty. The flavor is similar, but a bit more complex with different malts standing out and a dry, roasted finish. Decent beer, and better that the surprisingly low score. I guess it’s the same when M,C or B comes out with a good beer, the macroness if the brewery will bring down the score. doublebock (197), USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 9, 2008 Dark amber color with bready nutty aroma. Sweet Flavor is roasted and malty with strong notes of chocolate and biscuit. Delicate hopes at back of tongue. Group score is way to low. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2008 355 ml. Dark copper-brown with a medium-sized head that lasts and laces fairly well. Spicy molasses, corn and cocoa aromas. Flavors of near-burnt toffee, earthy spiced grain, chocolate, toasted nut and dark fruit are well-balanced by some metallic, woody and grassy hops, and slight alcohol on the end. Soft and smooth medium body has a slight tingle and a sufficiently dry finish. The best Italian beer I’ve sampled to date. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2008 Poured from 12oz a reddish amber with a medium sized beige head. Aromas of malt, toast, hay, and some dark fruit like cooked plum. The flavor is sweet caramel, toasted malt, straw, there is a soft/round roast in here somewhere and a hop bittering that reminds me of earl grey tea. Palate is sweet with a very mild bittering, slightly watery at the finish. The sweetness grows as you sip. It would be good with spicy foods. More of a food beer than a stand alone drinking beer, but good none the less. aubucs (15), Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2008 12 oz bottle in a pint glass. Darke bronze, tea-like. small head, off white color. Strong smell of malt masking a sweet smell. Malty taste with alcohol sweetness. A little bit of chocolate also. Not too heavy on the mouth. Nice alcohol warming, not too much. Good beer, and works well with a lot of food I eat.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2008 Poured a reddish-amber color with light creamy head. Aroma consisted of some roasted malt, including dark fruits and some caramel. Fruit, honey, and caramel were all present in the taste, and those flavors were decently balanced. Mouthfeel toward the back and the finish were slightly watery, and a little dark fruit remained. SamGamgee (1460), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2008 12oz bottle. Ruby brown with a nice head. Rich malty aroma with some dark fruit. Crisp and clean flavor with a full malt sweetness and enough bitterness to balance. Lots of caramel and toffee with a light roasted component. Full body, but quite drinkable. I was pleasantly surprised by this one, coming from trader joe’s.
