Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Fairly light colored (almost a dark salmon tone)for a dunkler bock, with little lacing on the small head. Aroma of almonds, malts & alcohol. Very prickly. Flavor quite pleasantly sweet (turbinado sugar) and malty, with some faint bubblegum esthers. Some slight burning. Mild bitterness clearly overwhelmed by the other flavors.

This reddish amber ale poured with a nice beige head and a malty aroma. There is a funky tinge to the malt flavor and a tingly hop finish.

Bottled, at Osteria Romantica restaurant in La Jolla, CA. Nice clear brown color with an off-white head, lots of carbonation. Slightly metallic aroma with notes of toffee, caramel and a bit of leather. Simple and straightforward flavor of roasted malt, caramel and brown sugar. Finishes crisp and dry, very easy drinking. Good lasting bitterness that complements the beer’s sweetness well. Nice Italian session brew that can be drank all evening.

Strong notes of burned malts at hints of brown sugar and alcohol. A nice brown colour with a quicky fading head. A lot of taste and complexity - a pleasent surprise....from Italy

12oz bottle: pours dark amber with minimal head, aroma of sweet malt and a little bit of roased malt, flavor not all that strong slightly sweet and the roased flavor comes through also, tastes a little bit watered down.

Brown sugar and prunes on the nose. Maple syrup color with loose head. Sweet, deep raisin sweetness. Slight bitterness to balance the complex sweetness. Smooth rich finish. I was very pleasantly surprised by this great beer1
