I had it both on tap and in bottles and was satisfied with the caramel/maltiness of the initial taste with a nice sweetness and slight fruit Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA

TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark reddish amber with an off white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was grain, sweet malt and also caramel, apple, raisin, and port wine or bourbon. A little alcohol as well. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and acidic, while the finish was moderately to heavily sweet and acidic and sour. The flavor was mostly caramel malt and raisins with a slight bit of chocolate. The medium body was syrupy with lightly fizzy carbonation and a moderate to heavy astringent finish. thewolf (5797), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Bottle, bought @ Irma, Industriens Hus, Cph. Pours clear dark brown with a smallish and rather fizzy off white head. Aroma is sweet, rye bread, dried fruits. Nice, well-rounded mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, Belgian sugars, rye bread, raisins, quite malty. Finish is lightly vinious (not much compared to the 7.2 % ABV). There is some power of hops at the end as well. Quite nice. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA

Low lighting so I couldn’t really see the color, but it appeared reddisd brown with a small white head. Not much nose to it. Rich malty sweet flavor with some caramel and nuts. No hop bite for balance. Medium mouthfeel.
