Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Bottle poured into dimpled mug. Clear mahogany colour with a thin tan head. Light nose with a little sweetness. Very creamy mouthfeel with a roasted malt flavour. Pleasant beer.

Bottle- Had this at dinner at an Italian restaurent tonight. Low lighting so I couldn’t really see the color, but it appeared reddisd brown with a small white head. Not much nose to it. Rich malty sweet flavor with some caramel and nuts. No hop bite for balance. Medium mouthfeel.

purchased at world market silverdale, Washington. pours a copper on the orange side with a small egg-shell/yellow foamy head, good lacing, light carbonation. smell is sweet, caramel, roasted nuts, freshly cut wood. taste is creamy, brown sugar, fire roasted walnuts, bit of alcohol taste in the background, ends slightly bitter and slightly oily. overall a nice brew.

Pours clear brown with a big lasting head. Aromas of caramel, molasses and dust. Flavor is very sweet, a little too sweet and out of balance. Mild bitter finish. OK.

Highly drinkable, double bock from Italy’s finest.....caramel and rich malt flavors that are well balanced and not malty....well made, try it!

It is malty and there seems to be more alcohol than It’s actual content. Roasted malt and caramel notes. Smoky and tobacco-like at finish. Not the best Italian Bock. Bock 1877 (the one is actually brewed by Carlsberg Italia) for example has a much more balanced profile and gentle approach while tasting. However It’s worthing deinking a copule of bottles especially in winter.

Sampled @ GDBTF. Pours a brownish red, a small ring of head. Very sweet, somewhat spritzy, strong caramel, weak finish. meh.
