Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

(Bottle) Pours a light brown color with moderate head. Sweet caramel in the aroma. Taste is heavily malted, and includes some toffee and grains. Refreshing, yet mediocre.

Been wanting to try this one for a long time. Caramel reddish color. BIG head. Nutty aroma. Really malty and very nutty flavor. Reminds me of a light brown ale rather than a dunkel. OK brew but a tad disappointing. Wasn’t what I expected.Would try again though if it were here.

This is supposedly a good beer with pizza, so I figured it would best be paired with a local pepperoni. Pours a ruby/copper color with a fair wheaty brown head. A doughy/ malty quality almost flowery? is on the nose, but there is also a yeasty aroma there as well. The body is full and certainly a quenching one. There is a lot of malt and sweetness, and it finishes with subtle, spicy, crispness. There is also a bit of warmth from the alcohol. A quality beer which is quite good with pizza
