Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Bottle 330ml. Delicious beer. Aroma has burnt caramel, butterscotch, and some alcohol. Sweet flavour, with some bitterness at the end, good duration. Creamy in the palate, medium to full body. Brown colour, and a thick, long-lasting head.

I don’t despise the normal Moretti too, but this one stunned me in a really positive way. Intense taste and full-bodied, but it doesn’t annoy. Maybe, the best italian beer i’ve drunk

330ml bottle. Dark and black in colour with a thin tan head that quickly vanishes to leave a smattering of bubbles floating around. Aroma of dark chocolate that is sweet and inviting. Bitterness in flavour with some smoky flavours coming through. Well balanced and nice sipping beer.

12 oz pours dark amber with off white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Not too sweet but a nice deep roasted nut sweetness. A bit too carbonated.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, nuts, and a little burnt caramel. Poured copper/amber in color with a large, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, slight caramel, nuts, light wood, and a hint of tobacco. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, nut, and burnt caramel finish is dry.

33cl bottle, with thanks to Don Michele. Clear, mahogany colour with a thick beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with caramel and anise. Sweet flavour, almost full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toast-malty taste with caramel and soft spicy notes; sweet and toasty malty finish with a present alcoholic burn. A bit one-dimensional Doppelbock. 23.IX.09

12 oz. bottle/gift from Brian -> Shaker. Pours a clear auburn with a gassy head which dissipates quick. Smells of candy, port, alcohol, apples or prunes, and caramel. The taste retains the woody/port quality, the prunes, and the caramel. Addition of raisins and a mild balance of hops. A fine beer for backing up my music library. Thanks, Brian!
