Bright clear burnished copper with a decent off-white head. Roast malt aroma, vinous and mildly alcoholic. Taste is more tart fruit than anything else - roast malt backing, of course. Nearly viscous mouthfeel, a little sour, medium finish - oddly enough, I really like this one. milewide (616), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 14, 2006 I had this from a bottle at a fancy Italian restaurant.
The beer pours a very bright red, almost unnaturally so (like a framboise). It was poured in a footed pilsner glass, and even poured into the narrow bottom of the glass by the bartender, I didn’t get much head on it.
The smell is definitely bock...very little hop, a ton of (mostly caramel smelling) malt.
Taste is OK....a bit too sweet for my taste, but I felt it was consistent with the style. A very sweet malty taste...think something like Hawaiian sweetbread or malted milkballs.
Mouthfeel was thin and watery and very mainstream lager-feeling.
Drinkability-wise, I didn’t really want another.
If you’re into dopple bocks/dunkels, give it a shot. Worth a try, but I won’t be running out to purchase a six-pack of it anytime soon. Egon (398), Gothenburg, Sweden

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Copper color with tan head. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of metal. Thick rich sweet caramel malt flavor with a healthy dose of almond nuttiness. The beer ends a bit sweet for my taste. gearbike (418), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA

Seemsed to be more a amber ale, rather than a bock,
great head retention, and well balanced alcohol/malt, available at throw out prices, not a bad drop. BeerDude78 (87), Denville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 10, 2006 Very good itallian brew. Almost has a beligian like quality to it. Pallate is complex, has hints of plums,nuts and raisins to. Pours a beautiful redish amber color, with full bodied head.
