Caramel and malt in the aroma and flavor, the flavor being a bit more sugar-sweet. Sweet finish, smooth and dryish roasted. A nice Italian job. (060826) Strykzone (1496), Wood River, Illinois, USA

The foam is never large but has considerable staying power and makes a great thick and rich lacing. The aroma is nice malty and fruity. This beer is so smooth it feels wonderful in the mouth. Although it is slightly bitter there is no aftertaste except for some sweet malt. There might not be a hop in the batch and no tartness at all. Dark fruits add depth. Great effort by Heineken! cheapdark (2046), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Just a little more bitter initially than I expected but.....Did you ever smell fresh crisp italian bread when you crack it open? Well, that’s how my beer smelled when I cracked the lid. When I tasted it, I saw waves of green white and red, all mixing together. Then. in the background I thought I heard some one asking ’kah-peesh’? Just a little aftertaste bitter. I was hoping to end my search for an exclusive beer before 100, but no, I’m gonna keep looken. Though a good beer, Schells carmel back is much better for this style. Unknown beer, so it was a rather good surprise tasting an italian beer with such a character. Malty and moderate sweetness makes this beer a top-10 italian-beer. benpickens (144), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
