Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Pours a deep orange with a tan head. Aroma of burnt sugar, like toasted marshmallow. Strong carbonation. Very malty with a touch of caramel. A very pleasant doppelbock.

Lightly spicey Noble hop accenting a deep caramel malt nose, minor hints of metallics; soft, clean, sweet and fairly tastey beverage, slightly grapey/vinous. The alcohol is well hidden. Pretty good.

From a 12 oz. brown bottle with no freshness date. Poured a clear ruby hued brown with a foamy off-white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Malty nose, caramel and toffee, a mix of roast and toast dark malts, hints of sugary alcohol. Nice moderate carbonation and a malty crisp, smooth light-medium bodied mouthfeel. A velvety malty taste, caramel, chocolate and a molasses sweetness, a touch of fruitiness, an earthy bark in the middle, the alcohol is noticeable, but tasteless, and provides a warming presence in the palate, and a chocolate caramel malty finish with some metallic notes lingering in the palate, good doppelbock drinkability. A tasty and balanced dopplebock from Italy at a affordable price, I am looking forward to trying this from the tap.

Pors a dark reddish brown with a small tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Starts sweet and ends bitter, can taste the alcohol quite a bit.

Bottled. Dark golen in colour. Minor white head. It has alight burnt aroma of malt with a sweetness as well. The flavour is burnt malt and it has a sweetness as well. There is a sweet aftertaste in this one. Thanks to "Dorqui" for this one.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma of malts, some alcohol and roast. Flavour is alcohol, malts, a bit caramel and then a nice smooth hoppy finish. A bit salty, otherwise very pleasant.
