Light hazy, red-brown colour. Fruity nose and a bit of caramel. Rich and round in flavour with a roasty caramel tone. Good balance. Surprise! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Updated: Jan 4, 2007Quite a tasty bocck this one. Lots of sweet sticky toffee and a bit of burnt malt. A well balanced flavour that distributes the sweet malt evenly to create a very more-ish drop. The palate is medium bodied, which is probably typical for a beer of this strength. A good, solid beer. Re-rate: Definitely not as good this time around, probably down about a full point. Too unbalanced and a bit raw. However, I’ll leave the rate to stand as it has the potential to be that good. Mirage52 (127), New Market, Maryland, USA
