Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Bottle - I was stunned when I poured this beer. I was expecting another typical Euro-lager, but it ended up being a bock. Beer is muddy copper in color with a beige head. A touch of smoke in the aroma. Not quite as malty as expected for the style. Nice flavor initially, but an odd soapy taste comes in near midway and all through the finish. So, at first I didn’t expect a lot. Then I did, but it didn’t quite deliver.

Bottle shared with Ralph after Church Key Spring Revival. Malty aroma - light. Deep red/brown, small white head. Strong malt taste, thin, slight hops, some alcohol. Not bad but not terribly exciting. Very easy to drink. Thanks for sharing Ralph!

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a dark amber with a small, off-white head. Malty, caramelish nose. Full and malty body with accents of caramel. Bitter, hoppy finish with some alcohol. Solid but quite raw and unrefined. 300406

This is an excellent beer. It has a wonderful aroma and somewhat fruity flavor, and is slightly heavy although drinkable. Nice dinner beer.

Bottle. Had a stale sweet fruit aroma. Murky brown body with thin head. Had flavors of plumbs, and grapes. More like a whine cooler as it was rather tart for my tastebuds.
