Sans Souci has a little more complexity than most Italian lagers, but then so does Coke. Pale gold colour, decent lasting head. Some citric hop effervescence in the aroma. Some malt on the tongue and a hoppy finish. (Bottle) stouby (1944), Holbaek, Denmark

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 26, 2004 The only reason I tried this was because it was the only beer I had not rated on the beer list at La Pergola pizzeria in the tiny village of Caone perched atop of one of the Eugenian hills in southern Veneto region. The Pizza was average and the Souci was just another well below average souther European Lager. Pale yellowy gold. Stale hop aroma, Watery bland palate and medium light sweet malt flavours. I shoulda gone for the straight Moretti and that’s saying something! PS: The view was awesome.
