Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Not horrible. But I’m definitely not lovin it. What some would consider Italy’s "other" beer besides the mass produced Peroni. Nothing special about this one, a little more noble hop character and a slightly fuller finish with a touch of hop-essence...perhap extract? make this a more complex beer than the Peroni. In the end though, neither are really worth it.

Second bottled Italian beer sample from the LCBO singles bin and definitely the better of the two. This one puts a golden lager in the glass with a decent 2 finger cap that has fair retention and lace. Aroma of biscuity Munich carapils over subtle noble hops. Mild character but with decent body and smooth mouth feel. Good dose of malts in front with herbal earthy Hallertau and Spalter hops riding just below the malt profile, fast clean malty finish. This is about as good as you can expect from a corporate brewer.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, light gold in color with a one finger white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is rich malt with a light spiced hop in the background. The flavor is rich maltiness that’s backed by grassy, spicy hops leaving a short, dry finish with a mild malt and bitterness. Well balanced with a light to medium body.

Golden yellow hue, very small white diminishng head, no lacing, smells like comericial mass produced brew, light, thin, minimal malt and hops, somewhat straw characteristic, regional european boring swill, Heineken a worse Stella, better than Bud but better, like the last writer said, "mediocrity," but maybe that’s all it is supposed to be

Drinkable but bland and tasteless beer. Yet as several others have commented it doesn’t taste bad either. In this regard it is better than the other bad, mass marketed European beers like Heineken and Stella. Unlike some of those beers I can drink it without complaining (though without really enjoying it either) so I will give it a passing mark. My best description of it would be the epitome of mediocrity.

Bottle, shared with Stefan 18.Oct.09. Light yellow sparkling body, with a sweet aroma of straw, hops and caramel. Rather thin with corn and honey, and a slight salty flavour. It is not very interessting in itself, but probably nice with a light (italian) meal.

Fairly boring. Slightly more bitter than I thought it might be. Hard to decipher the taste but it is overall typical.

a lot of aroma for a pale lager, but flavor doesn’t back it up. mouthfeel is like a soda water or weak sparkling wine. makes my belly feel weird. Bottle at Whole Foods, Miami Beach.
