Commercial Description:
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Grabbed this off a shelf in Bridgeport in a Jewel. Well, I actually enjoyed this. Nothing fabulous or amazing. But as far as a lager to drink with the pizza I had I found it to be a nice addition. Light slightly bitter with some cloying sweetness. Short finish.

660ml Bottle shared with a friend. Pours a very clear pale yellow colour, some hoppiness in aroma, taste is very clincally clean a bit sweet and refreshing. Fairly inoffensive beer which is fine but flavour has been sacrificed somewhat.

From a 12 oz. embossed brown bottle with no bottled/freshness. Poured a clear lager yellowish golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing. Aromas of lemon, spicy hops and husky grain. Light carbonation and a softly crisp, smooth light bodied mouthfeel. Sweet earthy, metallic malts, a light spiciness from the hops, mild in it’s bitterness, more of a crispness from the malts, a light lemon flavor towards the end and a dryish sweet grainy finish. Not bad, but, personally, this would not be my first choice of Italian lagers to enjoy with a meal or on it’s own.

Fruity aroma on a pale yellow body. Thin but malty taste with some corn. Thin body.

Bottle - Poured a clear yellow in color with a medium whitish head. Aroma has both fruity malts and some hops. Flavor is definitely malty with a small amount of hops mixed in. Neither aroma nor flavor were strong or distinctive. OK, but not great...

[Bottled] Yellow with average head. Grassy nose. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel and light-medium body. There is actually a hint of bitterness in the finish. On the high end as far as dull commercial lagers go.

Nose of apple esters with a litlle wheat; Bold gold color with litle head; a little malt mixed with apples in the flavor and a liile teeny bit of hops in the finish.

I didn’t get a lot of aroma, but flavor was almost sodium rich, slightly salty, not a bright hop flavor but some hops, a little Vienna like malt character, almost like a Mexican lager, but without the leathery finish common in Mexican beer. Smooth and drinkable with a meal, but not quality hop crispness or complex malt character. Good but not great.
