Bottled. An amber beer with a slight sediment floating around. The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate and caramel - too much for me. The flavor is sweet with artificial notes of chocolate, caramel, and alcohol. Thanks Pernille.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of Pernille. Clear, pale amber colour with a small, off-white head. Weird aroma of lavender, cocoa powder and almond essence. Medium body, a little low in carbonation. Very perfumy accents and some marzipan notes. No bitterness and no real pleasure either. 260208

[Bottle, Tasting @ Papsoe] Hazy amber with tiny short lasting head. Powerful sweet aroma has loads of chocolate, caramel and almond notes. Same for the extreme sweet flavor.

33 cL bottle. Pours golden orange, hazy, with a lacing white head. Aroma is perfumed chocolate powder and an almond note. Perfumed chocolate flavour. Sweet and artificial. Ends wih a lingering floral note. Strange perfumed brew.

Bottled. Poured medium orange with a tall, creamy head and bubbles on the sides.. thought it would be darker. Aroma was of pure, fresh semi-sweet chocolate and spring water.. not much else going on here, but it was rather delightful. Flavor was of very sweet candied chocolate along with an unidentifiable herbal sweetness.. that sweetness laster awhile on the finish.. very mild chocolate bitterness. Lighter-bodied and very sweet.. OK balance and flow.

Found at the Xocao chocolate shops in Barcelona and elsewhere in Spain (you can also get a 73% chocolate coated with 23 K gold). Fuzzy light brown color with significant carbonation. Smells and tastes like a milk chocolate flavored cream soda. Would make most serious beer drinkers cringe, but can be delightful in small doses if considered a alcoholic cream soda with light cocao flavor! No significant hop or malt flavors, but a good taste, esp. for a non-beer lover.

Brewed in Belgium and sold in Barcelona by a chocolate website, www.xocoa-bcn.com. I was not able to confirm Huyghe brews this beer, but it seems better to list it under Huyghe than leave it out of the database. A strong, pervasive chocolate aroma reminiscent of scratch-n-sniff. Light, thin lager body with no discernible hops. Quite powerful chocolate essence. Sweet and drinkable.
