Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel and good aroma hops. Quite full-bodied, a pleasant fruitiness - peachy - and a very solid hop bite in the finish. A fine one. 030608 pilsnerrogge (1628), Finspång, Sweden Sep 30, 2008 bottled: Pours dark amber with big, fluffy head. Sweet, somewhat hoppy aroma with notes of caramel. Somewhat fruity and hoppy flavour. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 24, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF thanks to the brewer whose name I can’t remember.
A beautiful looking beer. Rich amber brown with a thin but very stable light beige head and a superb snowstorm when swilled. Lovely aroma. So much going on and it’s all about the hops. Awesome tropical fruit, freshly cut grass and very green all round. You can really notice the different characters of the American, English and German style hoppage. Initially the flavour is just like the nose but all of a sudden the malts show through in a glorious fashion giving up lovely earthy notes and just the right level of sweetness. Bitter, U.S. IPA like finish. Overall different, refreshing and very well made. Excellent beer. Skinnyviking (2971), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and lasting off-white head. Hazy dark amber reddish body. Mild hops dominated aroma with notes of abricot and oranges. Flavor also abricot oranges with a faiir amount of hops bitterness plus a bit of nuts. Low carbonation, long bitter aftertaste. Fin (2453), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 12, 2008 Bottle? at GBBF 2008 Very interesting aroma in which I detected some washing up liquid, and this wasn’t as a result of a glass clean, furthermore I didn’t find this off putting. Tasted lovely in the mouth, soft but ever present hops, some fruitiness coursing through lazy but lingering bitterness, its pretty good.
