Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. What a great looking beer. Green pepper? Are you fuckin kidding me? Anyway, the aroma is pretty maltywith banana and the palate is really dry. Flavor is cereal without being too sweet, peppery spicy, full bodied with some leather. Really impressive. PilsnerPeter (1379), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy golden with a thick, dense, pillowy white head. The aroma is complex and spicy. Yeasty upfront, with notes of coriander, soft herbal notes, honey and very light bubblegum in the back. The mouthfeel is fluffy and creamy. Softly sweet malt base- very light dough notes, followed by evident coriander. Then comes a swarm of complex spice layers. I definitely pickup on a distinct and unique bell pepper (peppercorn) notes. There’s also some spicy herbs, a nice ginger bite, however, subtle, and just a smooth peppery bitterness left on the palate. The early malt characteristics in the fore is perfectly balanced by the layers of complex and unique spiciness. Complex and dry throughout. A great Saison! kmweaver (1949), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jun 1, 2008 Draft @ Rustico. Pours a hazy, straw-orange color; beautiful, textured and creamy off-white head with excellent retention and lacing that coats the glass; gorgeous, impressive pour. Pleasant amounts of honey, candied fruits, and light soft spicing (ginger? chamomile?); very nice nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy candy sugar, candied ginger, and floral notes, coupled with a very soft, creamy texture; appropriate, soft levels of spicing and chewy, floral-driven nuttiness; tasty, tasty stuff. Very nicely dry finish: breadiness, candy, and soft toastiness; excellent, crisp end. fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 7, 2007 Draught at Bi-Du Beer Fest 2007 Cloudy orange color; creamy head leaving a nice lace. It has a nice aroma of Goldings or other British hops, and cereals. Good mouthfeel, soft, with some malt flavor; it shows also a powerful and quite aromatic hopping; the spices can’t be detected (which is good for me). A very good English Golden Ale. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 28, 2008 Updated: Jun 12, 2008Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Hazy orange colour, massive creamy head. Lovery aroma of orange, coriander and cinnamon. Fairly dry, juic and fruity. Light and fresh with rounded spritzy mouthfeel. Lovely complex flavour with everything from dough to orange jam and bitter herbs. Long herbal bitterness. Perhaps the juicy flavour dies a bit early, but it has remarkable qualities!
