Commercial Description:
Ambershock® is an amber beer produced by way of infusion, with 7.0% alcohol by volume (17.7 Plato degrees). The wort boiling phase is prolonged in this case to obtain a certain caramelizing of the sugars in the wort. Strong, full-bodied and mellow, its marked yet well-balanced malt flavor mainly derives from a special bottle-conditioning process that lasts for approximately 4 weeks. Bear in mind that this is not a refermentation phase caused by adjunct sugar or wort, which happens with Trappist beers. It is an exclusive procedure adopted by Birrificio Italiano® of Lurago Marinone. That is why Ambershock® is only sold in bottles. If it were matured in vats and served on tap, it would have a completely different taste. Bottle conditioning also brings about perfect settling of the yeast, which makes it possible to have a perfectly limpid beer with a strong, bright amber color.

[Re-rate]This is one of the few beers brewed by this microbrewery that is served (and sold!) only in bottles. Great appereance: cloudy reddish colour with a creamy foam. The aroma is hoppy and fruity, with pleasant hints of strawberry. The flavour is malty, sweet (honey and caramel), fruity (strawberry and raisin), balanced by a good hoppy aftertaste. Great complexity, perfectly balanced, this beer is wonderful!!

Cloudy amber colour, good creamy head. Strong fruity aroma, especially banana, with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet, fruity, with a light hop note in the finish. Full body, good aftertaste. Another good stuff from this brewery.

Very nice amber with a huge lasting off white head. Subtle but complex aroma of fruits, fresh grounded malt, bread & flowers, such as roses. All of these are carried by a slight ethilic sensation. What amaze me every time I drink a B.I. beer is its smooth and velvety palate, be it a pils or this lovely bock.

Comments: Strange 1L bottle drank in an Italian train. A beautiful beer made with Weihenstephaner’s lager yeast, be it a bock or anything else, it is uniquely fruity, exotic and dry. Beautifully integrated.

Colour of chestnut; thick, creamy, cream-coloured head, fast disappearing. Nose gives coloured malts, caramel, brown candi sugar and brown bread. very malty taste, like malt grabbed out of the sack; brewery-aroma put into taste. Slight retronasal bitter taste, partly hoppy. Palate is much hoppier than taste, even with a bit sharp finish. Mouthfeel gives quite some carbonation? Very pleasing beer, gives however the impression that of they had pushed it more towards a noble hop-line, it might have been a real shocker.
