Commercial Description:
Double amber malt produced by way of decoction, with approximately 6.5% alcohol by volume (17 Plato degrees). A small amount of Cassis syrup is added at the beginning of the fermentation with S. carlsbergensis. It is prematurely bottled to obtain high gas saturation, and matured for at least six months at a temperature of approximately 6-7 °C. As in the case of Amber Shock, this is not re-fermentation, but an exclusive procedure adopted by "Birrificio Italiano®" of Lurago Marinone .
Cassissona®" has been produced since 1999. It is made during the summer and served in wide-mouthed glasses with the appropriate dessert.

(750ml Bottle) Pours a murky golden-orange particulate body with a huge beige head. Aroma of raspberries and cheese. Flavor of mild raspberry and white wine with a dry, champagne-like finish.

Very, very heady. Big ‘ol head of foam. Nose-big hint of briny green olive, cheese rind. Murky brown body with a head that lasts forever. Taste-slight antiseptic, apple, berry, watermelon. Lots of fruit but very little cassis. Odd. Overall mildly thin and odd.

This beer has the largest head EVER! Huge frothy and rocky, the aroma is also monstrous. Too bad the flavor goes absolutely nowhere. This is one of the most confusing beers, has some caramel and sweet toffee maltiness, with a herbally infused blackberry and just sort of woody and inbetween on flavors.

This beer is ridiculously carbonated. Freaking head for days. Fluffy and white and huge. It took 5 minutes to figure out what color this beer might be (sort of amber). Slightly fruity aroma with lots of yeast in the background. Tasty and light flavor with a healthy currant background. Quite enjoyable and refreshing without being a true knockout beer. Probably easier to enjoy on a hot summer’s day.

Holy head, Batman! Have to wait for this puppy to die down a bit to start this show on the road. Beer pours a dark, murky orange with etherial halos of yeast sediment settling in the bottom of the glass. The head is massive—overtaking the glass—beige, frothy, quickly diminishing and mostly lasting. It leaves a lot of lacing behind on the glass. The aroma is driven by heavy grape juice, current and blackberry notes with a light backing of toasted bread and a light yeasty note of damp cellar. The flavor is moderately bitter, lightly acidic and lightly sweet with a long, warm, lightly bitter finish. The body is medium, the texture is watery, the carbonation is lively and there’s a moderately alcoholic feel in the finish. Smells nice enough, but I’m afraid that I found this one not really interesting enough for either it’s fruit nor it’s beer components to be worth the time it took to let the over-abundent head die down.

Bottle. Head is initially huge, frothy, rocky, off-white, fully lasting. Body is hazy light to medium amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie), lightly yeasty (mold), with light notes of grape juice and plant stems, hint of chemicals. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Man, talk about nothing going on...in either the aroma or mouth experience. The appearance is awesome, but that’s the only notable thing here. Very little fruit or other character...doesn’t smell much like beer OR soda...more like some vague infused beverage. Poor, quite frankly.

A huger head than Duvel. A slightly sourish, pink-purple beer with lots of fizziness, some old hay and dry hweat flavors, and a lot of black currant. It really isn’t bad if you’re into that sort of thing, and I don’t want to slam it, but it just had something missing. Sort of....shallow.

This poured with a cloudy dark orange body and a massive head. The aroma is currants with some raisins and a little hint of caramel and peanuts. The taste has some dry currants and a little bit of prunes. There is also a underlying note of walnuts and some light caramel. it starts out sweet then finishes with some sweat and dryness. A decent fruit beer that screams to have some cheese on the side. I see the bottle also recommends fruit. I could see that.
