Commercial Description:
Double amber malt produced by way of decoction, with approximately 6.5% alcohol by volume (17 Plato degrees). A small amount of Cassis syrup is added at the beginning of the fermentation with S. carlsbergensis. It is prematurely bottled to obtain high gas saturation, and matured for at least six months at a temperature of approximately 6-7 °C. As in the case of Amber Shock, this is not re-fermentation, but an exclusive procedure adopted by "Birrificio Italiano®" of Lurago Marinone .
Cassissona®" has been produced since 1999. It is made during the summer and served in wide-mouthed glasses with the appropriate dessert.

Bottle, thanks to rickgordon. Hazy orange color, white head. Malty, fruity cherry aroma. Cherry flavor, berries, a bit sweet, bready and a bit sour.

750 mL bottle. Pours hazy orange with huge off-white head. The aroma is black currant (obviously) and a respectable amount of spicy yeast; there’s an almost earthy note in there, too. The flavor is black currant and hints of random berries, but actually isn’t as outright fruity as I was expecting (which is a good thing). The high carbonation gives it a bit of a sharp edge, too, and the tartness helps. Past the fruit are some earthy and slightly spicy yeast tones, and even a touch of dusty malt. The finish is warm and slightly dry. Not a great beer, but certainly drinkable.

(Bottle, thanks rickgordon) Pours dark orange with big off white head. The aroma is sweet and light sour with tones of creamy yeast and currant/grape berries. The flavour is of tart berries, yeast and some bready/cookie like malt. The berry notes are more present in the flavour than in the aroma. The mouthfeel is light tart and sourish, yet a bit creamy. Medium bodied. Don’t get me wrong, I love sour beers, but the sour tones in this one don’t really fall into place for me. Very simple.

The pour reveals a hazy orange color with a thick, bubbly, white head. Interesting aroma and flavor of yeast and fruits. The body is light while the carbonation is expansive.

Bottle, 75cl. (RBNAG 07) It presented itself by acting volcano, and the beer that found its way into the glasses had a hazy, golden-orange body with a nice, big, dense, off-white head. A slightly sour aroma had a sweetish fruityness as well. There’s hints of cassis in the flavor, which was nice in a way, but too sour. Slightly astringent, medium full mouthfeel. A decent beer, but I find it too sour in a way not as pleasant as with true lambics. (071103)

Cloudy orange, foamy, loose but very big head. Very faint aroma, mildly sweet. The flavor is very tart and dry, not what I was expecting at all. There is a little bit of sweet, but mostly dry and quenching.

Bottled. Thx rickgordon. Must have been infected... Hazy golden with a beautiful, white head. Very sourish with no ither flavours; no cassis here.
