Commercial Description:
Double amber malt produced by way of decoction, with approximately 6.5% alcohol by volume (17 Plato degrees). A small amount of Cassis syrup is added at the beginning of the fermentation with S. carlsbergensis. It is prematurely bottled to obtain high gas saturation, and matured for at least six months at a temperature of approximately 6-7 °C. As in the case of Amber Shock, this is not re-fermentation, but an exclusive procedure adopted by "Birrificio Italiano®" of Lurago Marinone .
Cassissona®" has been produced since 1999. It is made during the summer and served in wide-mouthed glasses with the appropriate dessert.

(75 cl bottle, thanks rickgordon!)

Shady dark orange color, white head. Acidic and manure scent, some milk. Sour acidic strange taste, apple cider also. Infected perhaps? Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Bottle (75 cl), thanks rickgordon. Hazy orange with a rich off-white head. Sourish and fruity malt aroma without any notes of cassis. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Quite unpleasant acidity with low bitterness. Infected?

Old rating off a pile of forgotten notes. I’m betting this one is courtesy after4ever? Pours hazy bright copper with a thin off-white head. Light body and carbonation. Soft taste of berries, dry finish.

750ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Hazy orange body with a huge off-white head. Aroma is a bit acid, yeast and fruity. Flavor is sour, fresh, fruity (blackcurrants) and some kind of sweet soap! Rather light body with medium finish. Interesting.

Huge fluffy lasting beige head. Cloudy orange color. Fresh and dry fruit aroma. Fruity acidic taste, mainly blackcurrant. Noteable sugery sweetness towards the end. Notes of medicine and edgy bittering hops. Light-bodied. Short astringent finish. (Bottle @ RBNAG’07)

Bottle @ Italian tasting @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a muddy pale deep orange with a gigantic bubbly white head. Okay lacing. Aroma is grapes, black currants and ligthly tart.Lively and fresh mouthfeel. Flavour begins malty sweet with fruity grapes, some apples and black currants. Finish is very dry with lots of hops at the end. Is this a wine or a beer? Still it is rather wonderful.
