Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2009 Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is oxidized combined with notes of over ripe fruits. The flavor is acidic and very oxidized, combined with notes of green apples, leading to a dry and tart finish. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2008 (Bottle 100 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Hazy golden with an off-white head. Lightly tart and fruity nose. Medium body with unclean phenols and solvents - all sorts of nasty stuff. Distinct astringent acidity. Terribly infected. 290508 fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Aug 11, 2008 Bottle 100cl @ [ Mafioso Blind Tasting @ yespr, Bottle #38.] Unclear hazy medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lancing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 2, 2008 Bottle #38 at yesprs mafioso blind tasting.
Hazy amber coloured with a small white head,
Acidic aroma of grass and wood.
Light acidic flavour of grass and spices with notes of hops.
Tart finish. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 2, 2008 2008-05-30, blind tasting at Yespr’s Cloudy blond color. Light aroma, both fruity and soapy. Medium body, with a too high vegetables flavor and some sourness. And the hops are gone… This beer didn’t age well.
The above is the comment from the blind tasting. This beer has been brewed only once at the end of 2006 celebrating the 10 years of the Birrificio Italiano; as Agostino (the brewer) anticipated me last Christmas, unfortunately the beer didn’t age well, and that’s reflected in this notes. Well, next Christmas we will have a better one! This beer doesn’t change my opinion that the BI is the best brewery in Italy :D
