May 16, 2007 On the cloudy yellow side, good head and lace with soapy bubbles. Medium mouthfeel, yeasty and that’s in the aroma. A bit of blind spot/black hole in the finish otherwise a fine saison.Underated, so have it early in a session to appreciate its subtleties.

May 6, 2007 Swing-top. Rather yeasty and spicy nose. Coriander, nutmeg, dust, chalk, citrus. Not in that order. Cloudy golden with a firm, creamy, lacing rocky white head. Full, spicy mouthfeel, thick and yeasty with bready, almost peatnut buttery notes leaching in. A little clove in behind the nutmeg. Some Weizen (chalk, citrus, banana) character, and obvious sour mash. Mildly acidic. Herby and peel-ridden. Dry and light bitter aftertaste nicely compliments the mild tartness and mild sweetness of the main course. Floral. Complex and very refreshing!

May 1, 2007 500ml bottle - Aroma of sweet bready yeast, citrus zest, pale malts, and hay with a tripel like spiciness to it. Pours transparent copper with slow bubbles rising from the bottom, a small head and great lacing. Flavor is much maltier than aroma with strong yeast, hay and snappy citrus spice. Palate is creamy and tart. Tasty enough, especially for an American saision. I like my sasions a little funkier.

Apr 30, 2007 I recall enjoying this one much more on previous occasions. I’m a huge fan of the style, particularly the more subtle blends. But I found this one to be a bit drab and uncomplicated, with a thin (and even bordering on watery) mouthfeel. Some of the right notes are there in the flavors - spice, funk, citrus - but it’s a bit messy to me.

Apr 26, 2007 Bottle shared by puddintane. Yellow-hazy pour with a white head. Aroma of lemon zest, light salty funk and some other barnyard elements. Flavors of menonzest and yeast alonhg with some pale malts. Light bodied with a bit of funkiness and a clean finish.

Apr 25, 2007 Pours a transparent bronze with a full-lacing white head. Aroma of earthy, musty bittersweet malt with some Belgian yeast. Starts lightly pale malty sweet with a touch of biscuits and dough toward a warming finish. Fairly authentic, but I wish it has a little more malty sweetness.

Apr 25, 2007 Poured a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Yeast and malty aroma with some spicey notes. Malty start has just a touch of sweetness. Yeasty ester characters. Dry finish with some decent warmth.
