Commercial Description:
For our 22oz IPA bottling, we play around a bit. We use the exact same malt profile in each brew, but experiment with different hop varieties. This high alpha hop has a crisp citrus finish. Its said that a low co-humulone content makes a smoother bittering.

Pours amber with a white head. Smells of citrus and floral. Tastes of sweet citrus with some wildflower hints and a more restrained bitterness than the others in this series. Nice spicy finish.

Bomber pours clear copper with modest frothy off white head. The aroma is mild with sweet tangelo citrus, malt sweetness, a touch of earthiness and hinting toward organic malt cardboard. The taste is tangelo hops mixing with a pulse of malt sweetness making it taste sweet and citrusy right off. Toward midway I get increasing hop bitterness with pine hops and hop spiciness. The malt sweetness in the background balances this brew out nicely and only shows hints at the organic malt notes I consider off and distracting. But since the organic malt twang is so light it is not a problem. It ends with delicious citrus hop bitterness.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream-colored head. Sweet, fruity (orange/tropical) hop aroma. Red grapefruit, orange, tropical fruit flavor with backing caramel. Lingering grapefruit and pine. Medium body. Decent/good bitterness. Nice.

Typical orange, slightly hazy coloured beer, small ,whte, splotchy head. Pine aromas, some strange onion in the background?, along with some nectarine. Strongish malt tendencies to begin with, then the citric hop flavour takes over, very bitter on the back of the tongue, along with some honey like sweetness. I quite liked this on the palate, rather wild but didnt over stay it welcome. Overall a nice enough IPA, not the best but again this series experiment by Bison is quite imformative.

Amber with an off white one finger head. Good amount of lacings. Aroma is orange citrus and floral hop. Taste is quickly earthy bitter hops with enough malt sweetness to take some of the bitter edge off. Some orange and leather. Fairly dry bitter finish. Kudos to Bison for doing these single hop brews. Very interesting. Will look for more in the series.

Bottle from BevMo. Deep golden in color upon pouring. Skuny pine aroma is dominant. A little bit of syrupy sweetness. Flavor is bitter and citric. Plenty of flavor to go around. Nice bitter kick as well.

22 ounce bottle in the series of single hopped Bison IPAs--Poured darker than the others in the series. A rich, clouded amber body with a fluffy white head. Nose of piny, resinous hops. Bitter and dry in the smell alone. Flavor not as potent as nose might lead one to believe. Grapefruit pine stereotype is true here. Somewhat chalky, bitterness-laden and creamy caramel finish. Pretty good, but not the best single hopped IPA in the series.

Decent, texbook IPA. Nice hop flavor with a caramel , medium bodied malt. I love this single hop series - really gives you a good impression of what each ingredient brings to the drink. This does highlight the alpha acid as it is very astringent and bitter. Heavy pine needle and grapefruit peel. Not a big fan of the Amarillo hop, single or in blends. really decent organic ale.
