Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Mar 2, 2009 Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of pine resin, pepper. Tastes bitter and dry. Not balanced at all. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours a translucent yellow/gold. The head is 1-2 finger creamy light yellow. The aroma has many off characters, peanut shells, band aid, some bitterness is apparent. The flavor shows peanut hulls, mild bitterness, some sweetness, off flavors. Thin mildly biter palate. Schultsc (478), Henderson, Nevada, USA Aug 28, 2008 2006. 100% Colombus hops edition. Pours a fairly dark amber with some mahogany highlights and a fairly thin head. Hop aroma was fresh and earthy but not too assertive. Straightforward hops in the flavor as well along with a lot of maltiness. A bit of toasted grain, with some light sweetness. Nice body that finishes clean. A very pleasant beer. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 10, 2008 bomber into tumbler. Weird light honey brown pour (not gross, but not appealing for an IPA), hazy, but with a big white head that provided great lacing. Aroma is primarily of fresh pine hops and is much more hoppy and pleasant than the flavor, which was almost sour, strangely bitter, and generally out of balance. Medium to light bodied on the palate with a quick finish. Overall: interesting and definitely unique, though not in the best of ways. Not a horrible brew though. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 12, 2008 22 ounce bottle at Belmont Station--Poured a gorgeous orange hue with a decent white top. Pungent wet-dog herbal nose with a biscuity resinous bite. Flavor is immediately an assault on the tongue. Thick, razor-sharp bitterness that lingers on and on. I am fine by that, but it kind of kills any other beer you might drink afterwards. Still, not too shabby. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Mar 4, 2008 Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours a clean deep golden hue with a large foamy head and outstanding lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of resiny and herbal hop, wet biscuity grains, dusty yeast esters and a hint of pepper. The taste is bitter and resiny supported by mild pale malts. The finish displays some spice and some soapy off-tone. The mouth feel is moderate lively and refreshing enough, dry metallic finish. Not too shabby and an improvement over the normal IPA but I still think Organic hop are missing that something special. Taverner (826), San Ramon, California, USA Feb 29, 2008 This one just showed up from the local BevMo - I liked it. Lits of pine and citrus. Floral, but kind of muted. As they say, a clean bitterness. Unfortunately it has no dankness - which I love in an IPA. This hop is lonely in this ale...and it really shows you how you need the full bouquet of hops to craft the perfect IPA. mikebeertaster (94), vancouver, Washington, USA Feb 27, 2008 got this in a 22oz size bottle. A really pine and fruit taste. Full flavor refreshing IPA. A nice choice.
