| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Dark brown with a ruby hue, a small light brown/tan head. Sweet Mocha, mild roasted and dark bakers chocolate scents. Some mild floral hop aroma too. A fizzy feel, Sweet and to me, quite salty. I’m all over the scale with this one. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Updated: Jan 2, 2008Pours BLACK, with a sort of khaki head. Head is very small though. Smells of bold chocolate and I could smell some burnt/smokiness. Flavor is of baker’s chocolate and dark fruits, really bold flavor. Gets better as it warms, has a dry bitter finish, definitely not very sweet for a chocolate stout. Lighter bodied than I prefer but the bold flavor and bitterness makes up for it mostly. Comes off as a little one dimensional. a nice one anyway. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
