The aroma has notes of toffee, cocoa, and malt. Complex taste, with sweet and sour notes mixed into the malty bitterness. Very smooth and drinkable. Light on the palate for a stout. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 28, 2007 1P 9oz Bottle - Poured a dark brown with good tan head - looks promising. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, toffee, roasted malts. Taste is somewhat disappointing - not terrible - just not exciting, very ordinary. Slight bitter cocoa dominates the falvor yet remains subtle. Mouthfeel is boring: watered down and thin to medium bodied (but it is smooth and easy drinkin’). Decent. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Had in the bottle at a local watering hole. I was never overly impressed with organic anything. The beer had a nice aroma of chocolate and malts. Poured dark almost black with an off white head. Did find this beer to be a bit light for me. One was great, but I would not want to have a lot of this at one time temporrari (327), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Ain’t bad. Mild chocolate flavor. Fairly thin bodied. Light aroma of cocoa, overall it’s pretty weak, but serviceable. Got one more bottle I’ll type up some more thoughts when I drink it. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 5, 2007 There was no light penetration in the color. The color was a dark chocolate/black. The head was medium tan, thin, and fizzy. The aroma was coffee, dark, roast, chocolate, and vanilla. The flavor was coffee, very roasty, and chocolate. The chocolate flavor was not as prominant as in the aroma. The palate was thin/medium bodied. The finish was roasty. Maria (6286), Thisted, Denmark
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Pitch black with a brown, creamy head. the aroma has lots of cocoa, chocolate and roasted malt. The flavour is smooth and has a nice full body with chocolate, cocoa, a hint of licorice and a nice roasted bitterness, that ends on the dry side with a touch of citrus. It’s dangerously easy to drink and very delicious. Thank you Tom (After4ever) - you did it once again!! 2348 greenhorn1 (461), Mission Viejo, California, USA

I loved the aroma on this one, big sweet chocolate, with a light roasted malt follow my a nice coffee scent. Flavor is similiar with a nice blend of coffee. The only dissapointing aspect of this beer is the light mouthfeel on the finish. Very mellow and nicely balanced.
