The flavour is smooth and has a nice full body with chocolate, cocoa, a hint of licorice and a nice roasted bitterness, that ends on the dry side with a touch of citrus. It’s dangerously easy to drink and very delicious. Thank you Tom (After4ever) - you did it once again!! 2348 greenhorn1 (462), Mission Viejo, California, USA

I loved the aroma on this one, big sweet chocolate, with a light roasted malt follow my a nice coffee scent. Flavor is similiar with a nice blend of coffee. The only dissapointing aspect of this beer is the light mouthfeel on the finish. Very mellow and nicely balanced. TURDFERGUSON (1606), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Bottle supplied by and consumed with Wieland on 6/19/07. Thanks dude. Pour was black with a tiny, tiny tan head. Nose is strong roasted malts, a little baker’s chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is equally roasty, with slight chocolate and coffee flavors coming through. Pretty good, but lacks the complexity of the best stouts on the market. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Poured a much darker brew than I expected, black and almost no light coming through. Is this a result of the cocoa? The head was thin and dark tan. The aroma was very roasty, dark coffee, chocolate, and a definite oatmeal or some kind of grain aroma. The flavor was roasty, ok yeah, definitely cereal grain, pretty much liquid aroma. The palate was about standard consistency for the style. I enjoyed sitting down and drinking this but wouldnt bust my balls to get it again. Quiver (139), Augusta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Bottle: Pured dark with little to no carbonation that gave way to little or no head. Taste was a nice blend of roasted coco beans, burnt coffee with a hint if bitterness at the finish to contrast the sweetness.
Nice Brew. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

This is a 12 oz bottle from Vintage Estates in Boardman. $1.50 per bottle. Pour is quite black, like used shovelhead oil. The aroma is roasty sweet and it has a decent bouquet about it. No head to speak of. First taste is a little bitter but that rapidly fades to a roasty unsweetened dark chocolate flavor. Decent carbonation for a sweet stout. Has that back of throat burnt sensation like the feeling you get when you get meat that has been charred on the grill. Quite an experience. A little too bitter for me if this is a sweet stout but I see now that it is not. Not nearly as good as Bells Kalamazoo or Yards Love Stout. Both of those are certainly more enjoyable. However, better than Lagunitas Cappachino and Youngs Double Chocolate Stout.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2007 Rated 6/23/06: Unexpected discovery at my favorite store, picked up a couple singles to enjoy. Aroma is very malty and yeasty I like it, the roasted malts dominate the scent, chocolate isn’t very detectable. Looks good, typical stout. A trace amount of light shines through when held very close to the lamp. Nice dark tan head that diminishes too soon. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin, but a nice smooth finish keeps this category at par. Fantastic flavors are present. Roasted and coffee malt are clearly detectable soon followed by a perfectly blended chocolate taste. Cocoa is added to the mash when this is brewed which is clearly evident. The chocolate tone is that of powdered cocoa, not overdone at all. Nice medium flavored stout very drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable.
