Aroma is very malty and yeasty I like it, the roasted malts dominate the scent, chocolate isn’t very detectable. Looks good, typical stout. A trace amount of light shines through when held very close to the lamp. Nice dark tan head that diminishes too soon. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin, but a nice smooth finish keeps this category at par. Fantastic flavors are present. Roasted and coffee malt are clearly detectable soon followed by a perfectly blended chocolate taste. Cocoa is added to the mash when this is brewed which is clearly evident. The chocolate tone is that of powdered cocoa, not overdone at all. Nice medium flavored stout very drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2007 From a 12oz bottle. Pours very dark without much head. An aroma of burnt coffee and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is the same as the nose except that the bitter finish from the burnt coffee flavor is really surprising. A very dry stout or maybe it just seemed to be that way to me. A tad thin but the carboantion was good. Pretty good overall. patrick767 (2052), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2007 bottle - Pours almost black with a medium sized tan head. It smells very much like dark chocolate with some roastiness. The taste also has lots more of the same with the chocolate almost overdone. It’s medium bodied, lightly carbonated, and goes down smooth. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2007 Bottle: Very dark brown pour topped with a smaller tan head. Nice lacing. Nose is roasty and light cocoa, taste is the same. The bittersweetness and cocoa flows well with the mild roasted malt notes. badlizard (2394), Berkeley, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 4, 2007 Bottle from a trade but I can’t remember who. Sorry! Pours a rich black color with a thin tan head. Nice thick oily body with a wonderful aroma of semi sweet chocolate. Taste is really nice with good malty backbone. Chocolate overcomes the hint of coffee flavor. This is a great stout for those that aren’t hop heads. I really enjoyed this beer. Excellent brew!
