Good base stout recipe but coco tastes is a bit astrigent. This takes away from this beer. Hops are present and balences the beer but this beer lacks some finesse. Wotha try though. Silver medal at the 2005 GABF. Forgien style stout.

It smelled of fabulous coffee with chocolate undertones, it tasted like burnt coffee and burnt chocolate. I couldn’t get past the burnt taste.

Bottle; nose features coffee, chocolate, and roasty aromas; Transparent dark walnut brown with a small tan head; flavor shows lots of coffee, some bittersweet cocoa, and a bitter hop finish in a reasonbly thick body.

Black. No head. Light coffee aroma. A chocolaty roasted taste to it. Would have liked more of a chocolate taste to it.

bottle. black maple pour with creamy tan head. very nice chocolate, small cofee and fresh hop aroma. Roasted malts, rich chocolate, small coffee. Nice carbonation but hides the flavors just a little. Slight alcohol warming. Well balanced hops end in a dry bitterness. very nice brew.

Dark, dark brown pour with a brown ring of bubbles for a head. Cocoa and coffee aroma. Taste is a split between burnt coffee with roasted malt and watery chocolate. Not well balanced. Finish is surprisingly smooth. Good, not great.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind an opaque dark black brown colored body. The strong aroma was malty dark chocolate and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish and a malt hop bite in the aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of dark malt and mild chocolate. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
