Jun 3, 2006 Bottle. Small tan head that fully diminished, opaque, no visible carbonation, and a black hue. Chocolate and roasted coffee nose. Chocolate and some coffee in the flavor. Dry finish. Slightly tingly mouthfeel. Medium body.

Jun 1, 2006 Black. Brown edges. Frothy, light brown head. Burnt malt, milk and dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans. Roasty mocha aftertaste. Medium/full body, well carbonated, a bit too much so. More dry than I anticipated, which is good for a chocolate stout. Solid brew.

May 22, 2006 SF Int’l Beer Fest - Quite a tasty stout here. This was poured from tap with a HUGE dark head. Seemed to last forever. Aroma was chocolatey, roasty, malty. Mouthfeel was a little thin for my liking, but still average. Appearance was near perfection with a dark black as oil look. Flavors were much the same as the nose, although the aroma of chocolate was much more pronounced there than on the palate. It was not a world-class stout but very drinkable.

May 13, 2006 aroma of chocolate, roasted barley, and hops. black with a big brown head. dry and bitter. tastes exactly like coffee. not as creamy and thick as some stouts. the flavor is very robust i just dont like the body and texture.

May 4, 2006 Updated: Dec 20, 2006Quite dissapointed in this one....was expecting more. Slight chocolate aroma, but you can smell the "tinnyness" and definitely taste it. Tastes kind of like a chocolate soda. Really quite awful. Pick a different chocolate stout, this one is a drain pour for me...which doesn’t happen very often. Original rating: 3/3/2/3/5 - 1.6
Re-Rate at blind tasting. Much better than the first time...must have been an off bottle before. Nice chocolate and tobacco tastes. Good hops. Yummy.

Strong chocolate scents with hints of smokiness. The taste was very bland like melted Hershey’s chocolate mixed with wheat and malt. Finish contained some hints of roasted coffee. Thanks go to acertain for trading for this, but overall I am glad I only had to finish about 5 oz worth.

Apr 25, 2006 Pours a dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is light roast malt and a light dosage of hosp as well. Flavor is plain but roasty with coffee and dark malt but no sign of chocolate. An over rated stout in my opinion thats really nothing special. Reminds me of Youngs double chocolate stout or something close to that.
