Very dark brown with a tan head. Lots of chocolate in the nose, accompanied by a mild piney hops presence. Bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, a touch of roasted coffee, and a significant hops bitterness. My first from this brewery and I was very impressed.

Pours out a deep brown color with a small tan head. Flavor is choco, but has a decent amount of bitterness. Not too bad.

Bottle shared with tupalev, jerc, blankboy & HogTownHarry - courtesy of me. Dark brown colour with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, smoke and a bit of fresh roasted coffee. Flavour of chocolate - but more like bitter cocoa or dark bakers’ chocolate than the sweet stuff. Also a bit of coffee and cola in there, with a very dry finish. I was expecting something similar to the Rogue Chocolate - this was very different, but still very good.

Dark brown, almost black, with a rich, creamy beige head. Strong chocolate flavours mingling well with roasted coffee aromas.Chocolate is in the driver’s seat also for flavours, though gradually yielding for the roasted flavours, ending dry (but not intensely so), making you think about cocoa powder. Some berries as well. A very nice stout it is.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Hogtown Harry, GregClow, and Blankboy, courtesy of Greg. Dark brown, small beige head. Nice sweet chocolate, roast aroma - very inviting. Very dry real cocoa taste. Some alcohol. Lots of hops in finish. A pleasure to drink, a nice surprise.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=2 target=blank>OhioDad, thanks Scott!) Pours very dark brown with a smallish tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee, some faint sour as well. No lacing. Mouthfeel medium-full, but a touch watery. Flavor is rich coffee with chocolate overtones. Was getting grassiness and faint sour on the back end though, along with the bitterness. A nice rich stout but grassiness takes it down a bit..

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a somewhat murky brown with red hues and a spare light-brown head. Lovely aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and fruit. Flavour’s very dry and follows the aroma with a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. This is very easy to drink, I like it a lot!

22 oz bottle, via Buch Dich. Black pour with chestnut highlights, small fine bubbled light brown head. Huge aroma of chocolate and roasted malt with a powdery cocoa overtone. Flavor dominated by the roasted malt and cocoa. Finish is lightly bitter with some lingering cocoa. Body is a little thin perhaps, but not overly, and the carbonation is a little prickly. Overall, a decent beer, but the cocoa did get a little tiring toward the end of the bottle. Not up to the benchmark of the chocolate stout style, Rogue Chocolate Stout.
