There are many better choc stouts out there. Bottle at Whole Foods, Miami Beach thooper41 (386), Oregon, USA

There is roasted malt aroma, ashes; luckily some alcohol too, that in this case fits well for the balance; light smoke and soy sauce, if possible. Medium strength and body, with a dryish chocolate flavor, burnt malts, light liquorice. The final is dominated by the chocolate, not bad but not exciting either. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Dark brown pour with slight red highlights. Minimal tan head, almost no lacing. Aroma is full of roasted malt, light chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is a lot lighter on chocolate than you’d expect, roast and slight coffee and a little bit of milkiness. Very thin mouthfeel, almost like water before the bitter finish. Not terrible, but I expected more. wavers1 (172), novato, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2009 i could tell as soon as i poured this that it would be a bit watery for my taste. aroma is faint with some funk and almost no chocolate. it is thin bodied, but does has a few hints of nice taste in there. sort of a bittersweet choco, slight coconuttiness and malaty finish. it is quite refreshing for a stout, and the fact that its organic earns it points. the choco is most noticable in the aftertaste where it lingers and slowly fades nicely.
