Pours with a nice foamy head, malty chocolate flavor, bitter hop finish. Tasted it next to a Brooklyn Chocolate Stout and found it inferior

Pours a deep brown with a light tan head. Aromas of bitter chocolate/espresso. Great chocolate and toasted malts flavor. Excellent Beer.

It took a few mouthfuls and it definitely should warm up before you drink it, but overall really nice. I agree with the previous reviewer that the aftertaste is when the cocoa kicks in. I really liked this and it’s nice to see it’s organic. A sustainable stout; a great idea!

Pours very dark, but clear black with some garnet hints. Oily looking. Caramel, milk chocolate, and roasted malt make for a rather creamy aroma. A sip brings you chocolate, toasted, and burnt malts. The coco used in the brewing process really comes through and shines in the after taste (yum). Creamy, oily and slick medium body. Not a bad brew, just lacking a bit in the main part of the taste.

Dark black brew. Light khaki head. Nose is flaky cocoa. Monsterous chocolate nose. At first this is delicate and classy. A floury, powdery soft chocolate that really dances in your nose. This plays off the malts excellently nothing too roasted nothing too ashy. A nice roasted grain profile that wraps around the cocoa rather than dominating it or watering it out. This however doesn’t last long enough to justify really high marks. Instead this beer fades into chemicals. Diacetyl? I don’t know what it is but there is a flat acidity that is off-puitting and treads heavily upon the soft cocoa. Too bad. THis one was heading in the right direction. Flavors reflect all of these things. Nice cocoa tang. Sugars are intense. Sweet beyond your wildest dreams and yet not cloying because the yeast creates a complexity that counters the sweetness. But this falls apart as the cocoa and the malts clash with the hops. Sweet and yet bitter burned on the back end and slightly citrusy hoppy...and the same flat acidity. huuhh. This could have been a good one.

Pours black with a thin brown head that left minimal lacing. Dark chocolate and coffee aroma with notes of caramel. Tastes so much like a bad coffee. Very bitter tasting with a hint of chocolate in the long bitter dry finish. And that’s basically it - it’s a thin beer with not much complexity.

an aroma to die for, rich chocolate. a dark chocolate brown on the pour and a almost non-exixtant head. flavor is all about the chocolate and it has a dry finish. pretty good but rather one diminensional. thanks to OhioDad for the bottle.

12 oz bottle pours black with a short creamy tan head that laces pretty well. Aroma of this is fanstastic.. Rich cocoa, coffee, and some nice hops.. I could sniff this one for a long time. Flavor is nice bitter chocolate, coffee and a dry somewhat bitter hop finish. Palate is smooth and creamy. Feels silky smooth before that dry finish makes me come back for another sip. A nice drinkable stout!! Pretty nice..
