| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Pours black and is brown ruby at the edges, has a small to medium tan bubbled head, left some tanned lacing, nose is predominately chocolate and milk chocolate, roasted malt and licorice, flavor of roasted malt with chocolate and coffee influences, some sweetness, easy to drink or gulp, some bitterness at the finish from hops and roasted malt, this is dry and leaves some roast malt flavor at the finish, I got a medium mouth feel and some creaminess on the palate, a good Chocolate Stout. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Pours an extremely dark mahogany brown color. The body is nearly opaque, with just the slightest hint of transparency when backlit. A small beige head is quickly fleeting. Minimal soapy spotting marks the glass. The aroma shows strong chocolate malts, mocha, scorched caramel, and a nice dose of earthy hops. Flavors follow suit, bittersweet chocolate and caramel showing very dessert-like, with roasted coffee beans and earthy hops lending balancing bitterness. The body is a little light for the style, but the carbonation is balanced, making this brew entirely quaffable. Overall, this is a tasty little chocolate stout that would make for an easy going Sunday morning brew. kiefdog (1629), Tampa, Florida, USA

Flavor is predominately chocolate and coffee with some hints of dark ripe fruit. Generally medium bodied with a sweet coffee finish. stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2008 A textbook organic stout that actually suggests chocolate flavor, and not just as a result of the toasted grains. Drink this. doublebock (197), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Roast malty aroma. Deep dark color with little head. Burnt coffee flavor. Not tasting the chocolate at all unfortunately. Crisp lingering hopiness. timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Black/brown pour as it should. Dark tan head. Heavy chocolate coffee nose. Reminds me more of a milk stout, maybe a chocolate milk stout, if there was such a thing. Would drink this one again. BREWMUSKCLES (1083), New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2008 YES, coffee and mocha chocolate. alcohol seems pronounced and at the forefront of the flavors. winey yet overstrong alcohol flavor that is not particularly enticing. nice and rich malt flavors invade in and improve the mid palate. nice finish that is mellow. just bitter in the dutch cocoa sort of way. it is good beer creamy with nice and creamy head that is quite substantial. chandler0201 (351), Durham, North Carolina, USA
