Black/brown pour as it should. Dark tan head. Heavy chocolate coffee nose. Reminds me more of a milk stout, maybe a chocolate milk stout, if there was such a thing. Would drink this one again.

YES, coffee and mocha chocolate. alcohol seems pronounced and at the forefront of the flavors. winey yet overstrong alcohol flavor that is not particularly enticing. nice and rich malt flavors invade in and improve the mid palate. nice finish that is mellow. just bitter in the dutch cocoa sort of way. it is good beer creamy with nice and creamy head that is quite substantial.

Taster - North American Organic Brewers Festival - Portland, OR
Aroma – Slight chocolate aroma with a strong dark malt backing.
Appearance – Dark Brown in color, thin head and clear.
Flavor – A very nice deep dark chocolate flavor with some gritty malts.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, Good gritty malt texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Very nice sample this was a good beer. Liked the flavor and the gritty malts made this a nice chewy beer.

Good stout. Pours near-black with a chocolately aroma. Tastes of coffee and roasted chocolate. Tasty beer.

Thanks Jesse. This one pours almost black with a tall lingering head. Strong roasted aromas prevail amidst a malty backdrop. Medium nectar with good carbonation. A high roast component pushes cocoa all the way home. Theres a little cardboard action tied to this that slows it’s way to the top. Great cocoa action tied to a delicious malt backbone. The finish lingers crazy cocoa puff.

22oz bottle. Fully black with a tan head. Milk chocolate aroma. Creamy flavor, like half and half with some coffee and chocolate in it. Finishes with a lightly bitter and dry kick. So creamy and chocolate flavored, its a little overwhelming. Not as much roast as I expected. Creamy mouthfeel with light carbonation. I don’t know what to think about this one, but it’s pretty interesting. Rerate: After the creamy quality wears off, there’s some really nice chocolate flavors, like creamy milk chocolate. A little more roast and darker chocolate flavor would be nice, but for what it is, its definitely well done.

Pours opaque black color with a small tan head. Nose of cocoa, coffee, roasted malts, creamy lactic and sweet malts. Initial taste of deeply roasted malt, black coffee characteristics and mild cocoa. Mid palate displays its light watery body when the flavor kind of drops off near instantly. Roasted malt dominate the flavor for what it displayed. Palate duration is average. Good head retention and lacing of the glass. Disappointing for a chocolate stout.
