It has the smokey bitter chocolate aroma you might expect, the taste is ok but the finish is bitter almost metallic ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Pours a near black with minimal tan head. Nose reminiscent of fresh coffee, with a smoky tarness and slight nutty character. Thin on the palate for a stout, starting with some cocoa sweetness but ending with charcoal dryness, along with a strange somewhat herbal hop note. I can’t say this is my favorite chocolate stout. ucusty (1892), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Bottle. A massive foamy head filled the glass before much beer accumulated in the bottom. No matter how slow I poured it, it foamed up with big soapy bubbles. Smells of sweet chocolate. Tastes like I’d imagine sugar coated, roasted cocoa beans would taste. No alcohol flavors poke through, and the finish is sticky sweet. The big bubbles make for a soda-like finish. troopie (885), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Bottle. Poured black with a foamy tan head, no lacing. Faint aroma of chocolate malt. Much bittersweet chocolate in the flavour, along with the malt. Lingering chocolate flavour. This seemed a bit unbalanced on the chocolate side, but it DOES call itself a chocolate stout so I should not complain. bikesandbeers (468), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2008 650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours an opaque black color with a tan head that soon fades to 1/4 inch. Aroma of roasted grains and molasses. Flavor shows mostly biter hops with weak chocolate and not much else to fill in the sides. The mouthfeel starts very thin and weak and builds a bit, but is still wanting. The finish is short and dry with a bit of liquid smoke flavor lingering. Overall: An unimpressive offering, there are better stout choices readily available.
