| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Pours a brownish black color with a foamy brown head. Strong chocolate aroma with espresso, molasses, roasted malts, and a hint of hops. Lots of chocolate flavor, roasted malts and coffee up front with a bitter hop finish. First beer for me from this brewery - pretty solid.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate syrup with some faint roastiness. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a inch tall beige head that slowly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with light chocolate. The finish becomes light-moderately toasty with moderate notes of dark chocolate that intensifies in the aftertaste. Medium bodied somewhat fizzy carbonation. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2009 On tap at Stone. Sweet and not heavy at all. Porterish. Light finish for a stout. High in fruitiness and not so big in chocolate. Tastes good. Just not a remarkable stout compared to what’s out there. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 22oz bottle, purchased from Bottle Barn. Pours a deep, reddish-brown color; light-tan head with excellent retention and fine-bubbled lacing; solid pour. A slightly hollow aroma: cocoa, definitely, along with some milk chocolate and light roast; lacking definition in some of these notes. Medium mouthfeel: very creamy, solid presence in the mouth: good amounts of roasted malts, milk chocolate and cocoa; again, this goes down smoothly but none of the notes are fully or entirely clearly expressed; a muddled, but tasty stout overall. Not quite enough roast, not quite enough character overall. Medium finish: light roast, milk chocolate. fidel (1013), Livermore, California, USA

Nice milk chocolate aroma. Some bits of Sunday morning cologne. Bitter taste upfront of dry malts and bitter coffee. Some strange elements but overall decent. Aftertaste leaves something to be desired. Fratto (760), Arlington, Texas, USA
