22oz bottle pours almost black with a nice foamy beige head that stays pretty well and laces a little on the Great Lakes christmas snifter I chose to serve it in. Aromas of light gingerbread, some orange, caramel, chocolate, and a little vanilla... Flavor is good chocolate and roasted notes, gingerbread, a little citrus, some vanilla, coffee, and a cookie like finish. Medium body and very porterlike. I really liked this one and it is a very unique brew..

Good looking brew, near-black, frothy tan head fades fast but leaves a bit of lace. Smells of gingerbread, rye, hops and bitter orange. Initial flavor of gingerbread gives way to a more traditional balanced malt/hop character. 3-way bitter -- toasty malt, hops, and bitter citrus. Nice texture, coats the mouth, leaves a bit of flavor behind.

Very deep ruby red color with big light tan head. Aroma is definitely gingerbread-like, hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, with kilned malts (munich-like), hint of vanilla, bit of roastyness. Flavor is malty, fair amount of cinnamon, touch of honey and nutmeg, with caramel and touch of oak, with faint roastyness. Finish is balanced but a but thin. A nice spice beer.

Pleasant roasty, baked aroma. Barely translucent, almost opaque brown. Bad label. Acidic, but very easy drinking, dry, coffeeish. At first I didn’t find the ginger, but it’s there in the end as a gingersnap. Medium to just over medium body. Quite pleasant.

dark mohagany appearance with a creamy off white head, nose is sweet and malty with molasses undertones, really smells just like gingerbread dough. nice flavor of roasted malts with some coffee hints and a slightly dry gingerbread like finish. creamy mouthfeel. pretty good, the nose was much more remenisent of gingerbread than the taste

Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt and coffee, but a bit weak. Tastes like a gingerbread cookie soaked in dark roast coffee. Finish is a bit bitter. More like a sweet stout than a porter.

dark mahogany brown, semi-opaque and golden brown at edges. head is medium tan, tall, and dense foamy/slightly fluffy. aroma is sour grassy roasted malt, some allspice and nutmeg. carbonation is good, texture is a bit light. flavor is dry roasted malt, a little grassy, and some more allspice & nutmeg, a little clove too. finish is dry roasted grassy malt, a little hop bitter aftertaste. definately a porter, but not sweet like I was expecting.

The aroma has some gingerbread but it is mostly coffee and caramel. The appearance is dark brown with a small but persistent head. The flavor is bitter with chocolate, coffee, and a little gingerbread but not enough. The palate is thin. I really liked the idea of a Gingerbread ale so I was expecting a lot and therefor it was not all it could be.
