Bison Organic Gingerbread Ale

Pours very dark with some amber colors around the edges. It has a very thick head and smells strongly of ginger and sugar. The aroma is deceptive though as there is very little sweetness in it. Quite bitter. The flavor isn’t lasting. A little too watery for my taste. Would be very pleasant to drink on Christmas though.

Poured a very dark opaque brown color with little head. Aroma of malt and gingerbread was pleasing. Mouthfeel was a little watery. Taste is slightly bitter with gingerbread and mild chocolate flavors mixed in. Different, but I found it to be too bland.

Pours dark brown with red tint, big ivory head. The gingerbread is very evident, in the aroma and taste. The porter gets really weakened by how much gingerbread is in this, not a bad Christmas beer to have, would be good on a cold winter night up. Interesting and very different.

At first it tastes like a porter. But the aftertaste has a very gingerbread like taste. Not bad.

Bottle: Cloudy brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is malty, alcohol, yeast and gingerbread (of course). The taste isn’t as sweet as I originally expected it to be. It actually seemed a little sour to me and doesn’t have much of a gingerbread taste in it. It leaves a strange aftertaste in your mouth - one kind of soapy. It’s ok.

Big Bottle. Aroma is of spices/cinnamon/ginger, with undertones of hops, and a little malt. Flavor is just like that of gingerbread- warming, with some hops and a little malt thrown into the mix. Although it reminds me of gingerbread and pumpkin pie, I don’t taste any pumpkin in it (probably the cinnamon and ginger)! Had this a while ago so I am doing this from memory, and I definitely remember this beer. Very and will definitely buy again! excellent as a seasonal winter beer.

smells not like a gingerbread man, but like a whole damn gingerbread family. Dang. vanilla frosting aroma as well. flavor is all gingerbread, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon, with a hint of vanilla. Almost like a Chirstmas Ale

I could not finish this one. It was not bad and that is not the reason, it was just too sweet and unbalanced on the spiciness. Harsh and astringent, way too spicy and sweet. Woody and full of wet cardboard, this was just not for me.
