The aroma has notes of ginger and some nutmeg, light grassy and floral hops, and some dusty yeast esters. The taste is dominated by the ginger leaving little room for other flavors to shine. A further investigation found notes of caramel and biscuity malt along with a dash of nutmeg and nutty undertones. The mouth feel is smooth and twangy. An okay niche brew, good for the holidays and colder winter nights. Not something I would want in the summer. rmussman (905), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2007 great holiday brew. Aroma is full of spices like cinnamon. Appearance is very very dark brown. Mouthfeel is a crisp but has a lasting aftertaste thats a little odd. Flavor is nice but I would like for it to be a little more full bodied. Cranberryboy (18), Bellingham, Washington, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2007 Pours a reddish brown with a decent tan head. The aroma is ginger and that’s pretty much it. Flavor is dominated by ginger. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2007 22 oz bomber. Aroma is gingerbread which comes as no suprise given the name. It’s quite strong really and smells like good quality ginger along with a sweet bready/cake malt base. Pretty nice smelling if you like that aroma. The body of the beer is dark brown with mild ruddy notes and a firm and fairly lasting two finger thick tan head.

Fore is somewhat malty sweet then gets spicy with ginger and nutmed flavors. Very much does taste of gingerbread and has a holiday feel to it like sugar dusted ginger snaps shaped like christmas trees. Has some watery droop out of the flavor toward the middle, but the aftertaste lingers long and gingery and I rather enjoy sipping on it even though it doesn’t ever wow me. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Pours a dark slightly red brown with a significant tan head. The nose is strange. The ginger almost smells like tomato. A bit of nutmeg, some very subtle sweetness. In the mouth this is lush and full. Creamy, the best part of the beer. Tastes less like tomatoes. Ginger and some nutmeg some up, some slight roast. A bit of sweet malt. There’s some acidity to this beer. The aftertaste is bitter with acidity, kind of like a cola. slimchill (781), Austin, Texas, USA
