Thin head with a nice copper/orange color. Aroma is dominating with honeycomb. Good aroma. The flavor is smooth with a slight hoppyness but is too sweet for me.

Brought back by BrotherBrando- poured a clear orange with plenty of carbonation. Suprising though that it doesn’t leave much of a head. Aroma is pizza like- definately basil, maybe some oregano. Taste has nutmeg flavour more then anything. A bit on the dryer side. It’s really hard for me to make anything of it, when its such an odd flavour. Very little fruit at all.

Now why did I never think of adding basil to one of my homebrews? This works way better than I’d expected, with a grassy presence as an alternative to the traditional hop presence. I drank this right out of the bottle during a kickball game, so I can’t speak as much to aroma and appearance. A pleasant surprise.

aroma is floral sage, sweet grass, spicy lemon, copper body with no head, flavor is extremely spiced, coriander, body is much thicker and heartier than expected, tastes much like a christmas ale or pumpkin beer, very spice dominate, but there is some nice complexity to the spices, a good balance o often over represented flavors in this sort of style, a good cool weather fall beer in my opinion, its going well with the time and place as I’m sipping it now on a cold october evening, foggy day in Berkeley

Aroma: Nice amber malt aroma with some spices the basil did not come through for me.
Appearance: Amber in color, clear with a light head.
Flavor: This was a decent brew I was hoping for more spice flavors or even a big honey taste. Those did not appear.
Palate: Dry Finish, with a decent Mouthfeel.
Overall: I was hoping for more and got butkis.

12oz bottle from Beer World (Largo, FL). Pours a slightly hazy amber color with thin white head. Aroma is spice, grass, fresh cut weeds, nutmeg, cinnamon, light wet perm, some light honey. Flavor is spicy and sweet with notes of honey, basil, grass, yeast, light caramel, some hints of all spice, light funk. Generally medium body, spice finish.

12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma is pretty much honey, basil and maybe some floral hops. The taste starts sweet with floral notes and bold honey sweetness and only growing to midway. The basil sort of starts mild and becomes nearly robust midway and into the finish. Interesting but a bit sweet. In fact the sweetness seems to prevent this beer from really being refreshing. Deep in the after taste I seem to get a bit of grainy malts for some reason.
