| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2007 Again, my bottle wound up extremely overcarbonated for some reason. This English style IPA was drinkable but otherwise unremarkable. Typical understated Fuggles-type hopping left me underwhelmed. Caramel and toffe malts seemed a touch stale...hints of dishwater, etc. Nothing remarkable here. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 29, 2007 Bottle (22oz), Knightly Spirits. Pour was typical for the style, a little more amber-reddish, perhaps, foamy off-white head, lots of lacing. The aroma was tea bags, caramel, citrus rinds, some oranges. The flavor was tea bags, brown sugar, orange and citrus, melon-bready finish. Not a good concoction, as these brown-sugary tea-bagged IPAs don’t do it for me. Mouthfeel was moderate, carbonated. bboven (103), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2007 22oz These guys make different batches using a single hop variety with each individual batch; this one happened to be Summit hops. Maybe this made it better than the previous reviewer’s scores. The aroma is great; the fruitiness the bottle advertizes is indeed there until the end where an almost overpowering bitterness takes over. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 6, 2007 A flowery, citrusly hop aroma. Red-brown muddy color with a white head. Very bitter and almost anti-septic. Nicely carbonated, the body is almost there, but a little too thin. I was looking forward to this beer but was underwhelmed. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2007 22 oz bottle, via Saarlander. Pours a dark copper body with a greater than normal amount of small sediment particles. Small foamy white head receded without any lacing. Nose is very light on the hops, just a little floral and lightly piney notes. Soft doughy malt base. Flavor is somewhat dull and lacking in crispness. Lightly bitter with a light citrusy hoppiness, minimal malt presence. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation and a slightly creamy texture. Overall, this just lacked any assertiveness and flair. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

Clear amber with a small, rpaidly subsiding white head. Aroma of burnt caramel and pney hops. Medium body and carbonation, decent mouthfeel. Quite bitter without sufficient balance, and a long dry finish.
