| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Bomber bottle and served in a standard pint glass: Displays a bright coppery hue topped by a tight creamy lasting head and excellent lacing. The aroma has notes of aromatic and slightly spicy hops, caramel and biscuity malt, earthy yeast esters and a dash of pear. The flavor profile is a simple combination of sweet bread and very mild bitter with a hint of pepper on the finish. There is a juicy fruit note through out the tasting. The feel is creamy and very smooth, a solid session brew despite a slightly higher than normal ABV, some metallic and chalky notes on the aftertaste. Not for hop-heads for this is really more English Pale Ale than India Pale Ale. I found it tasty enough to enjoy on a lazy summer afternoon.
My #200 California rating. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Bottle bought on a whim: Copper colored pour with a small white head. Aroma was a grassy/earthy hop with some malt coming through in the background. Flavor was carmelly up front with the hops coming through on the tail end. Not much bitterness in the finish, at least not for a west coast IPA. Wasn’t bad though, and I would say better than I expected it to be. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Very malty, sweet caramel aroma. Lousy label, darkish maple-colored beer with a thin lacy head. More of a British IPA, bitter -- not very astringent or tangy, and fairly dry. Some cereal flavors and green pecan which were prominent near the finish. Finish was strongly bitter and medium-long. This is a fairly strong session beer candidate, however the hops cling just a tad in the finish. The malting could use a bit of tweaking away from the red. Tastes like an upstate NY IPA. redlight (1496), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Original 3.3 Market Square Liquors - Tallahassee, Fl - 12 oz bottle. Funky aroma with a hint of cat urine but is saved by a sprucey back end. Medium copper pour with a good sized khaki head. Sharp citrusy flavor, some nuttiness around the edges. Slightly stinging mouthfeel. Overall, decent. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2006 Clear amber/light brown. Modest, frothy, tan head. Nose of pine resin, starbursts, venom, strong malt with subtle caramel. Same flavors with some herbal/anise notes added and a bit of chai in the finish. Easy drinking, medium, balanced body. Solid IPA. Underrated. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA

British type hops. Quite bitter flavor right up front. Not really a good kind of bitter though. Aftertaste of wintergreen Lifesavers. Camamelized maltiness. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 10, 2006 Nose of pine, citrus, resin, perfume, & flowers. Pours a murky orange amber. The
enormous beige tight rocky head is fully lasting with amazing lace. The flavor in four
words or less: Big, Bold, Burnt & Bitter. Not necessarily in that order. The medium soft
body is creamy and feels slightly astringent at the finish. The is a “Take no Prisoners”
kind of brew.
