Pours a color somewhere between ruby and copper with a slight chill haze that fades completely as it warms. The head is huge and fluffy, and a dirty white color. The aroma is oddly like lemon soap (and it’s not the glass, I checked the glass before using it). The flavor is thin malt that doesn’t balance or mesh well with the hop flavors. A touch metallic. Not really all that satisfying.

Deep cranberry tinted amber coloured body with a super thin off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops, some deep malt and a bit of caramel. Medium-bodied; Sharp hop bittering taste with some caramel and malt also prominent. Aftertaste shows a good balance of hops and malt with some sugars too. Overall, a good red & much better than a lot of others in the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 31 May 2005.

Medium amber, decent head. Light citric hop aroma. Flavor is a pleasant balance of citric and spicy hops over a medium caramel body. Simple, but not bad at all.

Nice clear red with a volcanic off-white head, took a few minutes to complete the pour. Aroma of caramel and floral, somewhat greenish smelling hops. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, caramel, floral hops, grapefruit and a touch of pepper. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a surprising alcohol twang in the finish. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. No lacing, pretty good head retention.

(22oz bottle) Medium beige head atop a crystal clear copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, chocolate, nutty, some grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, floral, chocolate, caramel, some grapefruit. Light earthy in the finish. Not much bitterness. Smooth medium body, minimal aftertaste.

22oz bottle. Amber pour with a substantial foamy head, aroma is light fruit & hops. Tart fruit dominates the flavor spectrum for me, some earthy hops in the finish. Not the kind of "Red" I expected, though unique with it’s sourness, would not seek out again.

I don’t have much to say about this one. I have been let down by this brewery’s beers before. I was expecting something a little more memorable than this.

Dark cranbeery body with a small white head. Smell is delectable, fragrant: juniper, spicy, chocolate and peanuts. Taste is full, with sweet cocoa, pumpkin seed, bittering cofee, clove, coriander and peanuts. Fun beer, complex and flavorful -- very suprising for an amber ale. Aftertaste is pleasant chocolate and dry hops. Shared from a bomber with my great friend jgb9348.
