I’m not really smelling the cascade. I do smell a lot of phenols, peanuts, and honey. Very dry with little malt character. Astringent bitterness. Leaves an unpleasant grainy aftertaste. Not enough sweetness to balance the sharp, acerbic bitterness. Not even sure I’ll finish it. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Pours a dark red with a two finger head that slowly goes down to a thin frothy layer. heavy cascade aroma with a little roasted malt. flavor is dominated by the hops. Very little malt flavor there. I love hoppy beers this just needs a bit more malty flavor. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2004 Pours a brownish tea color with hints of redness. Has a decent sized head. Aroma is hoppy and a little sweet. Fruity and a little spicy. Flavor is malty even a little roasty. Also has a citric spicy taste. Seems a little bit too carbonated for my liking. I like the spice though. PorterPounder (3144), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2004 Picked up at Habersham Beverage Warehouse in Savannah, Ga. Pours a dark copper color with an off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma has some subtle floral notes with a bit of citrusy hoppiness to round it out. Flavor has a definite west-coast cascade, hoppy-citrusy bent to it, but not overblown. Some nuttiness and caramel comes through as well. Mouthfeel is rather thick. Finished fairly strong. Holds up well, and one of the better beers that I’ve had that labels itself as "Organic". IndianaRed (1559), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Bottle pours a light amber/orange with a small white head and no real lacing. Light malty and hop aroma with a woody, slightly carmely/ grapefruity flavor. Feel was light a bit thin and quite lively. Nothing too special. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Amber pour with light head and no lace. Sweet malt aromas. Caramel and light hops. Nutty/woody flavors, caramel and roast malts. Small hops, some being bitter. Mellow malt body, earthy palate and finish. Reminds me of Fat Tire for some reason. BückDich (4851), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Aged cantelope color, light head & lacing. Nose of lotion, baby powder & light crisp malts & noble hops. Tastes similar with more hoppy notes & ginger like tones. Finishes strongly carbonated & balanced. Not bad, just unique, and not in a way I like.Thanks Indiana_Red!
