Commercial Description:
Our Winter Warmer is a classic dubbel-style ale that warms body and soul through the chill of Winter and Fall. We enjoy the chewy, malty flavors mingling with a slight fruitiness and raisin character but aromas and flavors will continue to evolve. Our bottle-conditioning leaves some sediment, so store cool, then decant by slowly pouring into two wide mouth glaass to enjoy with a friend. Ale brewed with raisins.

Vintage 2006. Nose is very fruity, like raisiny, sweet with clovey spices, and vanilla hints; Hazy rusty red with a small beige head; flavor has raisin pie, yeast, and some light hop bitterness, along with some light peppery spices

Dark amber/ruby with a small, off white head. Rich aroma of dark fruits, sweet and bready malt, and some candi sugar. Same flavors, rich and with a bit of warmth. Full/medium body, balanced. Nice, strong winter brew.

Pours dark brown, with a small off white head. Smells of sweet dark fruits, grapes, and candy sugar. The flavor is of sweet dark fruits and bitter candy sugar. Grapes, figs, and plums seem to be the most noticeable characters detected in the flsvor. Palatable and easy drinking for 9%, decent masking of the alcohol. Not great, but drinkable.

2006 Bottle. Pours out a brown color without much of a head. Smell is sweet, spicy, and has some raisins in it. The taste is sweet, and really, like eating a raisin. Over carbonated, too sweet, no balance, pretty much a mess. It reminded me of Ommegang - but only in appearance and mouthfeel. Kind of like if unibroue was to brew Raison d’ Etre and add a turd to the mix. My least favorite beer of the weekend last week.

Bottle 2006. pours out a nice darker brown clor with a medium tan head. aroma was sweet with a bit a raisin. Flavor was the same, but had a somewhat strange finish. This is one of the better beers i have had from this brewer and I want so bad for them to have something better. My search continues

Bottle 2006. Body-hazy brown with a medium ring of bubbles. Nose-husk, straw, broom, gerbil cage. Taste-straw, pine shavings, clean, perfect sweetness, medium CO2, grape juice, unsweet honey, urea, sweetens as it warms. Decently made, but nothing mind blowing.
