Commercial Description:
Our Winter Warmer is a classic dubbel-style ale that warms body and soul through the chill of Winter and Fall. We enjoy the chewy, malty flavors mingling with a slight fruitiness and raisin character but aromas and flavors will continue to evolve. Our bottle-conditioning leaves some sediment, so store cool, then decant by slowly pouring into two wide mouth glaass to enjoy with a friend. Ale brewed with raisins.

Bottle: Dark mahogany color, light head and lacing. Nose of vanilla and sugar, jaggery and maple with light alcohol. Subtle raisin. Thin boozy flavor, some melanoidins but they’re all color, no body. Decent, lame finish. Hmmm.

650 ml bottle from Holiday. Cloudy medium brown with a fizzy tan head. Caramel and oat aroma. Raisin and dark fruit taste with some mild toffee notes.

Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a hazy brown with an average frothy light brown head that was mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Heavy malt, dark fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Full balanced fruity bittersweet flavor with the same long finish with a very small alcohol tone. Good well balanced brew.

22 oz bomber from Pizza Port’s bottle shop. A bold and lively aroma of sweet dark fruit and thew slightest scent of root beer as well. The flavor hides a minimal amount of sweetness while a tart and light bitterness is the main course of the drink. Only has a hint of raisin, plum, fig and dates. Appearance is a dark tint of red with a fine layer of film. Actually, I thought this was a nice and interesting drink.

Pours a hazy brown color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, spice, and some earthy bitter hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, cinnamon, spices, and a bitter earthy finish.

Bottle pours a hazy deep redish amber with a small tan head. Malty apple cidery and pitted fruit. Rich carmel flavors, and the raosons contribute. Stable and plain but smooth amd drinkable.

2006 Brewer’s Reserve bottle. Ruby hinted brown beer with a thin biegish head that shrank quickly. Candi sugar, dark fruit and alcohol in the nose. Dark fruit sweetness, raisin, yeast, and burnt sugar. Pretty standard Abbey Dubbel.

650 ml, 2006 vintage. Clear, dark copper-brown with a large cap that settles in, and leaves some creamy lace. Dark fruit, alcohol, and tart cherry aroma. Bold front flavor of dark fruit and alcohol, with slight bubblegum. Less sweet finish is bready, woody, and spicy with yeast and hops. Smooth, medium body is fairly balanced, with a slight dry finish. Good, but alcohol is a bit too noticeable for my tastes.
