Commercial Description:
Our Winter Warmer is a classic dubbel-style ale that warms body and soul through the chill of Winter and Fall. We enjoy the chewy, malty flavors mingling with a slight fruitiness and raisin character but aromas and flavors will continue to evolve. Our bottle-conditioning leaves some sediment, so store cool, then decant by slowly pouring into two wide mouth glaass to enjoy with a friend. Ale brewed with raisins.

pours a clear orange brown with sweet mild bannana yeast aroma. yeastie full palate with the light fruit presence, full bodied and smooth for the ABV. raisins present in the middle to finish and the conditioning is evident. complex.

very dark maroon with a non existent head but some lace. spicy raisins and bread aroma. there is a definite presence of american hops throughout the beer, one of the more pine resin style. smooth bodied. flavors are similar but with more spiciness and bitter resins coming through. this one would be better if they had chosen a different hops, it just seems out of place

I really wanted to get this beer because the Belgian style beer they made before this (Saison) was so freaking amazing. So I went out to trade for this and Pitonka/5000 was able to provide it, thanks Andre. It pours with no head and a ring of lacing. The color is dark brown and gets murky with the yeasty part. Aroma is a very spicy, piny and some ammonia mixed in with light bread-y raisin more traditional dubbel aspects. Taste is again piny, spicy with light black bread and raisin. Altogether the more traditional dubbel aspects are watered down in its place are the weird wet wood mixed with some off flavors and a mineral quality. The yeasty part adds a bit more body and overwhelms the negative aspects but not enough to think this will improve with age. A bit too light on the body and low bitterness. It’s almost more of a spiced beer than a dubbel but either way it lacks enough substance.

Aroma – Deep malty aroma with some subtle spices
Appearance – Dark in color, clear with a thin head
Flavor – This had a deep malt flavor the spices where very nice this was a true dubble style. A heavy beer with alochol
Palate – This was dry to the finish but also had some sweetness in the start. Warmed up nice and stayed with you for a while.
Overall –A winter beer just like others. This was however subtle with the high alochol

Rated blind from "Better Know a Style: Abbey Dubbel" tasting. Pours brown with a beige head. Fruity aroma, sugar and alcohol. Fruit toffee, dark fruit, banana, alcohol, and vegetables in the flavors. Watery body finishing dry. Not a very good one.

This beer has such a great aroma, and huge flavor. Surprisingly light on the palate for a 9% brew, and definitely not overly malty. In fact the malt/hop ratio is absolutely fantstic. Basically a big dubbel-style brew that drinks remarkable well

22. Pours nearly black, some ruby highlights. Bubbling tan head that settles to nothing, laceless, essentially as soon as the bubbles pop. Fairly neutral, almost stale nose; almost cola-like, even some CO2 notes in there. Softish body, light carb, very cola-like flavors hit instantly and carry all the way through the finish, essentially undifferentiated. Not much happening here, and what’s here isn’t very well thought out.
